It's okay if you've never made pottery before. The instructor will guide you carefully.
With 500g of children's clay, you can make a teacup, a rice bowl, a plate, a flower vase, etc. You can make whatever you want.
Safe clay from Shigaraki, Shiga Prefecture.
We use a kerosene kiln for authentic firing.
On the day of the event, customers will be asked to draft their favorite pictures or words directly on the artwork, and then the instructor will color them beautifully in the studio, just like a coloring book.
There are 90 types of clay for visitors and 22 types for on-site pottery classes. You can also draw your own pictures on the clay.
It is recommended to have one instructor for up to about 20 participants, two instructors for 21-60 participants, and three or four instructors for more than that. The fee is 8,000 yen (tax included) per instructor.
There is no cancellation fee, and you will only be charged for the amount of clay used on the day. If you are not able to attend the class, Atelier Manpou will make the work for you if you request it.
It will take one and a half to two months to complete the work. (We also accept requests for completion during the summer vacation for those who experience it until the end of July!)
I have been teaching for many years and have had very few breakages, but I cannot say that the clay is 100% safe. In the unlikely event that a piece is damaged due to our mistake, we will either ask you to re-make it or return the cost of the clay used.
It can be used as everyday tableware and can be microwaved, but cannot be placed in the oven or directly on the fire.
Basically, we ask that you pay in cash on the day of the event. In the case of groups, bank transfer can be done later.
